Hi,
I have been having troubles with my motherboard.
Half Life 2 won't start - it gives a memory read error and sometimes a
memory write error and then crashes.
Trackmania Sunrise Demo won't install - it just says that the source is
corrupt - I have re-copied and I have also tested on another machine and
it's fine on another machine - so it's the PC messing it up not a
corrupt source.
Alot of programs also give that error when installing - I have to keep
pressings retry for it to go through which is very annoying.

Also, when I installed Windows I had alot of troubles. Windows said it
related to memory - they also gave a fix which I ran. It worked but
during the install it completley froze and I had to turn the computer
off.

I had to do the fix many times before it went through and worked
properly.

When I got into Windows the first thing I did was install SP2 - that all
went fine.
When I got back into Windows after the reboot my theme files weren't
working and I had to apply the uxtheme.dll patch to view the XP style.

I have tested my memory in another machine and all was fine, I have also
tested my hard drive.

So that only really leaves the motherboard and CPU that could be faulty.

So I RMAed my motherboard and CPU and they are going back as soon as
possible for checking and replcement.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what was
causing the problems?

Was it the CPU or the motherboard?

Hope somebody can help me!

Cheers
Craig

Google for MEMTEST 86. Download and run it. Even though your memory worked
on another machine, it seems faulty.

I did run memtest86+ all night, it found no errors.
Thanks for help anyways.
I have sent my CPU and motherboard back for them to replace whichever's
faulty.
Craig.
