these still do not work. .. maybe its an issue with the samples dat on
clrmames site. I've tried a bunch of different ones that people have
posted to the binaries group as well. nada.

The dat was created on the files posted to the newsgroups some days ago.

it was a stab in the dark.. no disrespect inmplied I still don't
understand why its complaining about them not being correct. oh well, its
not that big of a deal.

Most likely because the crc32/sha1 don't match. Look at the detailed
cmpro scanresults tree output and you'll know.
If you don't use the samplesdatfile and only a standard mame import, you
may only get "missing sample" messages.
