Writing DVD in windows 7 is so boring.Because it takes a so long time.It happens only when I use windows 7 default DVD writing software(built-in windows 7). I tried it in "Live File System" format. It took 3 hours to Burn a 4.7GB DVD.But when I try to burn a DVD with third party softwares like Nero, it takes more or less 30minutes.Where is the fault.

I think win 7 caches everything you burn first in a folder then burns to disc this still should not be taking that much time. Me thinks win 7 is defaulting to burning in 1-2x speed. Nero properly supports your burner's faster burn rates hence quicker dvd burns.

Yes.
Windows creates an IMAGE first before burning it which is pretty stupid. Most (all?) other burning program simply calculate how they're going to burn quickly then start burning.

CDBurnerXP might be the best free burning program around.

A 4.7GB DVD should burn in under 5 minutes if it's a 40x or higher. Dual-layer discs usually take 4-10x as long.
