Question about power supply

I've both hooked up on nf7s v2.0 with no ill effect. Seems to get juice
well that way

Some mobo have problems using the ATX12v supply plug if it is not needed. If
the current draw of the cpu is within the standard mobos capability and the plug
is used it may cause instability. I quote the MSI K7T Turbo2 User's manual
'Note: Power current supplied via 12V power connector must exceed 10A; otherwise
the system could have a stability issue" I have had the problem on a Turbo2 and
have fixed a couple of other systems that had stability problems by unplugging
the 4 wire 12V supply plug.
