I have just purchased both these components, going by the animation for
socket 754 on the zalman site

It appears the backplate under the CPU that came on the MSI MB needs to be
flush with the top side of the board. It isn't, it has two screw holes
sticking up so when you fit the heatsink it doesn't contact the CPU core.

Am I right in assuming I need to remove the MSI backplate and fit the one
that came with the Zalman heatsink?
