I have a Plextor PX-W4824A CD-RW, and have updated to the most recent
firmware. It works fine with any 'manufactured' disk, audio or data, but
will not work with a 'burned' cd. The 'burned' cds DO, however, work fine in
the DVD-ROM. When I put a blank or previously burned disk in the CD-RW, I
get a green lite for about 15 seconds, then the lite turns amber and proceeds
to flash 4x with a pause, 4x pause, etc. until I eject the disk. Windows
Explorer shows the drive, and Device Manager says it's working properly. I
uninstalled the Nero software I was using, but that did not make any
difference. I believe the problem started after I installed Windows SP2, but
I'm not positive, since I mainly use the burner to backup data files every
few weeks. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried cleaning the laser in the cd-rw? It's a possibility
it could be the type of discs you're using. Some brands work
while others won't.

I've used canned air on the drive and tried several different brands of
discs. Did not help.
