I upgraded from windows 2000 on a fat32 partition and did a clean install of
xp upgraded to a NTFS partition. Now i cannot access my external hard drive.
Disk management shows all the pertinent info on the drive and shows it as
healthy. It shows up in device manager and explorer and shows as working and
online but when i click on the drive in explorer it says "I
drive not
accessible" "Access denied". I need to get into this drive as it holds all my
clients work. Please help.

Boot the system in safe mode and try to access the drive, if the issue still
persist update your XP to SP2, here is the link how to do it
