Pleasant discovery when my Brother HL 1050
blew up (flash at front on reboot, then lamps
signalled fuser error.) Brother web site directed
me to two local repair shops, where one replied:
"The model of printer HL1050 has a recall on it's fuser. If yours has not
been changed under the recall it is covered for the part and installation
when brought into our shop. We have the part in stock."
Result -- free repair within 24 hours. (I also discovered
this shop, Office Doctor, Canotek Rd. Ottawa, still
has genuine Brother toner, worth knowing because
the Ko-Rec-Type equivalent is poor stuff.)
