Hello all from merry old England,
This is first post here, first on usenet as well!

I've been MAMEing for a couple of years and recently held a Street Fighter
tourney (using a MAME|I-PAC|ArcadeVGA combo:) for the beatemup fans at the
Surrey based games company I work for.

I recorded the whole tournament using one input file in MAME32plus.82.
After each match I hit reset so that players could choose new characters.
To my absolute horror MAME didn't record the resets so only the first match
plays correctly even though the inputs for all subsequent matches were
recorded. Furthermore MAME doesn't allow accept resets while playing back
an input.

My question: Do any of you hardcore mame folk know of a method that will
allow me to playback all the matches correctly?

It might be worth noting that the player 2 start key was pressed once after
each reset and once a few coins had been entered to start the two player
game.

I'm thinking that it might be possible to search through the file for
player2 start key-presses so that I might split the input file up match by
match.

If you have any ideas or know of someone on mamedev who might be willing to
help please reply,
Sincerely distressed mamer,
Beartron.
