I'm on my second KT6V MOBO. My first one was dead right out of the
package.

Now with the one that does boot up, I'm having problems with getting
the LAN and the USB to work. I've been told in the MSI forum site
that this board isn't compatable with Win 98 SE. There is nothing in
the book stating this and their site has updated drivers for Win 98 SE
and ME.

Does anyone know for sure that this board won't work with 98 SE? My
retailer claims they have put it in computers with Win98 SE without
any problems.

I've tried for three days straight to get the LAN and USB to work.
They are enabled in CMOS, I have downloaded the latest drivers from
MSI. I've tried a number of times installing it from their CD and
straight from Windows, but nothing has worked.

Looking at the system devices I see the following problems:

For the Network Adapters - VIA RhineII Fast Ethernet adapter I get:
The NDIS.VXD, NYKERN.VXD device loaders for this device could not load
the device driver (Code2)

The VIA Tech 3038 PCI to USB universal host controller I'm getting:
The NYKERN.VXD device loaders for this device could not load the
device driver (Code2)

In both cases it suggests you update the drivers. THIS DOES NOTHING
The problems is still there. Most of the time it bombs of on the
update because it can't find the files, but sometimes when it does
make it all the way through the update, these problems are still
there.

I've done just about everything I can think of, I hope someone out
there has the answer. I got no help from the other forum.

also this was a fresh build for a customer..I used all the drivers from here
and none from the CD..obviously you have a second machine so try Dl'ing them
all and use them for the driver update.
