Hi!
Does anyone know how to get the search function in contacts to check for
last name instead of first name? It is annoying having to search among your
Asian business contacts by first name which is rarely ever used in any other
communication.

There are several options.
First, the box at the top is a "filter" rather than a "finder" and
normally filters on the entry of either the first or last name.
Check "view" to assure that "by name" is selected.
Note that the default Outlook (on your PC) "file as" <last, first> and
if you have reset it to <first last> the filter will not find that
contact's last name... only the first.
Onward... tap;
start/find/contacts/<string> and it will find the string in any field in
any contact.

I don't know, but you can do it in Pocket Informant. You can download it and
try before buying.
You could always enter the name the other way round though- first name in
last name field, last name in first if it doesn't cause other problems.....
