Hi - I'm trying to get my Pocket PC Media player to open
mp3 files stored on a shared folder of my PC. Form my
PPC, I can explore the folder with no problem, but
tapping any mp3 file has no effect. I've also tried using
the "Open URL" option in Media Player itself but always
get a "path not found" messge (even though i can explore
to it!)

Are trying to play the mp3 on the PPC through the network or on the PC?

the default file manager will not allow you to open a file on a share, you
can only copy and paste it from the share to your device. Use a third party
file explorer such as Resco File Explorer, it will allow you to open any
file on your network share, (mp3's movies, word docs ...)

Not so, works fine on my Acer n20w running PPC2002. I use Pocket Music and
when I have wireless networking enabled mp3s on my networked pc open just
fine by tapping them in File Explorer. Use it all the time when I'm in the
garden.

My case, I add the WMA file in my device\windoes\ring in my O2 XDAII to
Media player playlist.
