Files on this cd-rom drive are read-only error msg is shown while copying patch

Hello,
when i try to paste a copied patch.exe file from cd to a folder in program files the above error msg is shown.how to recover?

copy to another folder in your computer HD (your desktop, say for instance), then into program files
