Hi,

I am having problems with my Dvd burner. its only like 4 months old
and as of yesterday when i was trying to burn a data dvd to back up
stuff on my comp. it failed according to nero because of a power
calibration error or somthing like that. Well i have been trying to
for 2 days to get it working again but it wont. It still seems to be
able to burn cd's but i just cant get it to burn a dvd. i have done
reinstalls of Nero to make sure it wasnt a softawre issue but i fear
its a hardware one. When i tried to burn a dvd with nero today as a
test it said the drive would not initialize probobly due to bad disc.
well i test all 20 of my blank dvds and they get the same problem. now
i am just frustrated because i dont know what to do besides spend
money on getting it looked at or spending money to get a new one and
then having the chance it still not work.

any ideas would be appreciated.

thanks

George

if it's 4 months old - send it back for warranty repair. it's probably
fubar, so take advantage of the warranty.
