Storage HDD being seen by everything but XP

Hi all.
I have a 120g and 80g HDD. The both dirves are being recognised in the
BOIS.
When I boot to XP SP2 I can see both drives in Disk management but the
80g can't be given
a dirve letter. It says that it is: 74.53 GB NTFS Healthy (Unknown
Partition).
It cannot be seen in Windows Explorer.
However; I can boot to a live linux distro and access the drive and
copy files from the drive.
Also, Partition Magic reports that the partition is "hidden".
I unhide the partition then boot to XP and it seems to hide the
partition again. (if i go back to PM it's hidden)

I have used partition magic to repartition the HDD's and move
partitions etc etc,
maybe something weird has happened because of that?

Any idea's?
TIA

Darb

Are you dual booting using a 3rd party boot manager?

See if there is a parameter in Boot Magic 8 that allows you to "hide" a
partition from another operating system.

I use System Commander and I have my computer set up this way. The operating
systems that I AM NOT USING are hidden from the operating system that I have
booted into.

Nice work Crusty OB.
When advanced partition hiding is enabled you can go into the
properties and overide the config. For some reason the partition I
wanted was excluded from this.
Thank-you very much for your help.
