How can I change the order of the NIC Cards when they are auto-detected
through windows.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why would one want to alter in software what one can physically accomplish?

Do you just want to confuse your confuser?

Don't know if this is what you are looking for. Goto Network Connections. On
the "Advanced" menu pick "Advanced Settings...". You can change the order in
which connections are accessed. I don't think this will change how they are
displayed in Device Manager but it will change how XP accesses them.
