are sata channels locked or not?

question: are sata channels locked like the pci/agp lock on nforce3 (msi
neo2 platinum)

trying to oc but hangs everytime ht over 235...

any idea to use the 2 sata that is connected to the addon chip?

Sata is supported in two ways, 1/2 use the chipset directly, and 3/4 use an
external Marvell PNY chip. Only 3 and 4 are locked, perhaps becuase the
external chip gets it's main clock signal from a fixed source.

that did it! ht 240 no sweat, 250 no probs, 260 nice, testing serious disktrash with md5 checking windows folder, did great! 270 wow, 273 ops...display garbage and vpu recover before lockup...
all done fron clockgen wihout any vcore overvoltage. need a better psu i figure...just got a lousy 400w
