Hi,

I just received a "new" board from newegg - a K8N neo 2 Platinum with the
markings of MS-7025VER:1 under the PCI slot. It also came with the heatsink
retention already assembled. It looked as if it was just rma'd and sent back
out.

The 90nm 3200+ is coming tomorrow. Will I have issues with a "rev 1" board.
I remember reading about problems with old bioses and the 90nm cpu. Does the
heatsink assembly normally come already assembled?

I am of the mind to just RMA the board and hope for the best.

TIA

Mine was the same way. I asked and everyone said theirs came the same
way.

As far as I know, they are all rev 1. Mine was bought around the first
of December and came with BIOS 1.3 wich supports the Winchester (and I
am using a 3200+ Winchester in it).

I think you'll be fine.

I have ordered three of the Platinums and one had the 1.2 bios the
others had the 1.3. All had the heatsink retention assembled. All
were Ver: 1. I have installed one FX53 and two 3000+. All of them
are stable and run up a storm. The only gripe that I have had was the
temperature reporting for the cpu. Two of the boards are flaky and
the other one seems right. I guess they are ok because none of them
have fried. I finally decided to stop worrying and just run them. No
problems... unlike a recent Epox 9NDA3+ purchase!

Thanks for the info, Mitch and gf.

I'll give it a shot.
