OK let me just preface this by saying this is the first MS network problem I havn't been able to fix. That said here is the problem.
I recently upgraded my main box, which I use for Design and Programming to an Asus A7NV8 Deluxe motherboard. I backed up all my files to my other system so I could do a clean format/install. However after a clean install and now using the integrated ethernet, I couldn't access my other box. I could ping the box and the router, but it couldn't resolve the network name. After fiddling with both integrated adapters (NVidia and 3Com), I reinstalled my old adapter, however the situation is the same. I am contemplating setting up a DNS server (since I could control naming services), but I really would rather not. I have not seen this issue in a workgroup before (only with DNS servers). Also, in addition to not being able to see other members of my workgroup, I am unable to see my own system when I pull up Net Neighborhood. Usually, I would pass this off as a config problem, however I just had another net pro look at it and he left scratching his head.
Network Configuration:

-- 4 PCs running either WinXP Pro or Linux
-- 1 Netgear Router
-- 1 Linksys Hub
-- 2 Cisco Routers (not on)
----Two of the PCs (both running WinXP Pro) are plugged into the Netgear Router via direct connection. The other two PCs one Dual Boot Linux/XP Pro, the other just XP are connected to the Netgear router via the Linksys Hub. (The two Cisco Routers are also connected to the Hub, however they are off).

Any help is much appreciated.

If I paid as much attention to people as I do computers I would be married.
