Basicly what your describling is a vertical lookup
on your Audit team sheet you will need 3 columns Employee number, Forname
and surname eg
0001 John Smth
0002 Fred Bloggs
On your second sheet in D6 as you said use the lookup function as below
=VLOOKUP(E6,'Audit team'!A2:C3,3)
This looks up what is in e6 (a employee number your trying to find the name
for) from the Audit teamn sheet, compare it against the data the the range
where you've stored your employee numners and names and diplay whats in the
third column. ie employee number is in column 1, forename in column 2 and
surname in column three.

Hello From Steved
Thankyou Damian.
Yes You have helped me.
The issue with me Damian is that I have just got this
Pocket PC and one has to think limitations in how one
goes about writing formulas, as an example the PC excel
will recognize WEEKDAY where as the Pocket PC will not.
Very interesting.
once again Thankyou.

Comprehensive list at
http://web.archive.org/web/2002120 [...] ctions.htm of what Pocket Excel supports. It is an old list and not even on
Casio's site anymore, but I think it is still pretty close if not
complete. Pocket Excel hasn't evolved much.
