I have a computer that will only boot to the HP Invents logo screen ...won't
go to the bios, won't boot from cd or floppy, won't DO anything .... just
sits at the logo screen for ever and ever

I'm real tired of looking at it - any ideas?

I've seen this happen on a Dell before now when the mouse and keyboard were
plugged into the wrong socket.

Have you tried removing the battery on the motherboard and reinserting it.
If you can then go in to BIOS, set settings to default (or disable that HP
screen).
