USB to Parallel converter

Hi Guys

I need a parallel port for a CCD camera, but my PC has no parallel or serial ports. I bought a USB to parallel converter cable, but this doesnt appear as a parallel port as I had hoped. Can anyone give me any ideas? A PCI card is not an option sadly

what CCD camera are you using? never seen a camera using a parallel port.

Its a modified SPC900 for use with a telescope, the parallelport is for the long exposure control.

A PCI card isnt an option as so far as I know I cant put on in my laptop.

Further reading suggests i need to go USB - serial and then serial - parallel. Fun!
