Probably another Chinese/Indian company will buy it up, just like Volvo and Jaguar.

You're right. A Chinese company is already getting involved; probably to copy the tech and provide service parts.

Hopefully after Chinese company acquire Volvo and SAAB, they can finally produce cars with reasonable safety and quality at cheap price, especially electric car. Cars in Australia cost a lot more than in US because the market is small, also dealerships are greedy taking a large chunk of the money. Nissan Leaf sells at $50000 AUD and government don't have rebate. US is selling about $35000 USD and government rebate means it will be even cheaper and currently the USD and AUD exchange rate is about 1:1.
