Windows Imaging Acquisition
I am trying to scan images via MS Photo Editor and Epson CX4500
Printer/scanner. This combination has been working before. But now out of the
blue, Printer works O.K. but I can only scan out of MS Paint after doing The
following step 1-6,
1. Right click on MY COMPUTER and select MANAGE
2. Click on SERVICES AND APPLICATIONS
3. Click on SERVICES
4. Click on WINDOWS IMAGE ACQUISITION to highlight it
5. Click on STOP SERVICE
6. Click on START SERVICE
After this MS Paint will scan but If I then try another scan program, I get
the error "Unable to open Selected Twain Source" again. Will have to do steps
1-6 over again before MS Paint will scan again.
I then went to REGEDIT and in the section Permissions for Administrators, I
ensured that both the
Full Control and Read options were checked under the Allow heading for the
Epson scanner. still no help
I have scanned for virus with updated Norton. I have run Spyware
X-terminator. I'm also have trouble with Norton antivirus, I can not Enable
"Auto protect" and "Email Scanning" has an error. I have to run virus scan
manualy. Are these problems related? What else can I try for the scanning
problem?
