epson vs. hp

Before i buy i need to know if anyone can help by telling which of these scanners is better?

EPSON PERFECTION 1650 PHOTO
or
HP SCANJET 5490C

wish if there was UnDo in the life

I would go with the HP better performance and support

HP have very bad support. My uncle have an HP computer (every is from HP Monitor, PC, Printer, Scanner). He always call me for support because HP support suck. I called HP twice and the tech support knows nothing.

I think that they're pretty much at par, but I'd recommend Epson over HP.

at www.buy.com they offer the epson perfection 1650 PHOTO for 209 and you can buy an extended warranty! any problems you send it to buy.com .. actually they come and pick it up.

if for any reason they cannot fix it they will give you your money back of the full amount you paid for it even after the epson warranty expires and the buy.com warranty sits in!

20 bucks for that warranty! a definite good deal!

Well i work in a computer store and we sell only epson scanners becease they are better and they have bette support!

i bought the epson perfection 1650 (not the photo coz i do not need it at all) at us$250, and i am very happy with it, it is fast scanner and the both the software and the driver are great and it is working perfectly.

i thank you all for your recommendation which really helped me to make my decision
