Hi all,
I recently messed up the bios on my Shuttle SB61G2 XPC (overwrote
with the incorrect version). I've bought a new bios chip with the
latest bios version FB61S03E. However the system still won't start,
disks spin fans start etc but nothing on screen or CMOS beeps.
Multiple requests to Shuttle have fallen on deaf ears. The best bit is
that I didn't note down the BIOS version before I flashed it So I
don't know which version I was using. Shuttle appear to only have
their latest version available online so I'm after an earlier version.
the bios history can be found here:

ftp://ftp.shuttle.com/BIOS/fb61/fb61v1/readmefb61.htm

The sytem was bought in September last year so either FB61S034 or
FB61S038 should be OK. Motherboard is FB61 V1.3, if any kind person
has a copy of the earlier BIN files or would copy their bios to a file
I might at least be able to get my system started.

thanks in advance IB

If you navigate with your web browser to:

ftp://ftp.shuttle.com/BIOS/fb61/fb61v1/

You should be able to get all versions of the BIOS BIN files found in the
readme file.

Good luck!

Ian
the thing that tricked me was that the bios default is Raid = Disabled
so I could not boot (I have 2 disks stripped).
Maybe for you there are other default settings that stop you from
booting.
