Is there one available? I want to make use of S-ATA but I want to leave
the jump to 64-bit until things have settled a little. I can also
re-use more of my hardware at the moment.

Thanks

What do you mean by "settled a little"? I think we are quite settled
now, with the Intel EM64T being just about the same as AMD64. But
also, the Athlon 64 is a better 32-bit CPU than the Athlon XP or
Sempron. The Athlon XP is cheap, and a Socket A XPC is a bit cheaper
than a Athlon 64-system, but a nForce3-based XPC is also quite much
better, and will be even better when Windows XP x64 arrived next year.

But regarding your main question. Neither the SN41G2-series og
SN45G2-series seems to have Serial ATA-support onboard. I guess it
could have been an idea for Shuttle to make a update on these using
the new nForce2-southbridge with Serial ATA-support. Not many standard
motherboard uses this yet -- thus, there are some. Many of the
standard nForce2-boards uses an integrated PCI Serial ATA-controller
from Silicon Image or Promise instead.

But all in all, if you have the possibility to put a little more money
into this, get a Athlon 64-system.
