Migrating XP to Windows 8

I have 2 Desktops with XP, 1 laptop with XP and one laptop with Windows 7. With the advent of XP support is going to be phased out, in the coming year, I am planning to convert one of the Desktop which is only 2 years old to Windows 8. Microsoft gave a green light to this Desktop for Windows 8 installation.
When I convert that Desktop with windows 8, I would to like to share files and printers with the rest of hardware. What is the best way to do this task? I shall appreciate if you could kindly detail the process step by step including copying all those .pst files in MS outlook and any other program files that could be compatible with Windows 8.
