I just got a Shuttle SB61G2 system and put Windows XP on it. I've installed
all the chipset drivers off the cd, however XP doesn't have all the basic
ACPI functions such as system stand-by and hibernate. Standby is greyed out
as an option when shutting down and theres no hibernate tab in Power
Management. However the system has "soft" power off when I push the power
button. I'm almost positve I see ACPI enabled in the bios also.

Uh Oh..... You have to turn on the ACPI in the bios before you install
windoz. I know of no way to get around this. I think you will have to
re-install Windoze.

In the bios on my SB61 board, "ACPI FUNCTION" is enabled but its also
greyed out so its enabled by default. I tried uninstalling all the ACPI
related system devices in Device manager, restarted system and it
reinstalled all the devices but still no ACPI functionality besides the
power button turning the system off through software. What happens if I
reinstall XP and I still dont have ACPI. Is there anyone out there who has
a SB61G2 who has standby and hibernate in XP Pro build 2600?

It turns out after installing the intel extreme onboard graphics drivers
that I got ACPI functionality, although I don't intend on using onboard
graphics...
