Do I have to initialize my external usb drive every time I connect it to a
different PC.

After finally getting the device working on my own PC, I took it to work
today, plugged the device in...... and nothing.

XP detected the device, but wasn't available for use?

Anyone have any answers.

Thank You

Steve

It simply should just 'plug and play'.

XP should just assign it a drive letter.

Check with the manufacturer or supplier to see if there is anything wrong
with your unit that may require a replcement item.
