Hi,
I hope someone can assist. I am going nuts.
I have had a Dell Pocket PC for over a year and I sync it with two
PC's. One in my office and one at home. Both of the PC's it sync's
with are running Windows XP. I run XP Home at home and XP Pro at work.
Both PC's are on US Eastern Time and BOTH display the correct time and
adjust themselves for daylight savings time. No problems with the PC's
at all.
BUT, about a month ago my Pocket PC (running Windows Pocket PC Version
3.0) decided to advance itself an hour! When my PC's say it is 9am,
the Pocket PC insists it is 10am!
I have gone into the clock of all three machines. My Desktop PCs
clearly say they adjust for Daylight Savings Time. My pocket PC is
also set to the right time zone, yet I can find my setting to make
sure it's on Daylight Savings Time.
If I reset the Pocket PC clock back an hour manually to match the
desktops, it IMMEDIATELY advances an hour again when I put it in
either dock to sync!
The worst part is the Pocket PC is advancing my appointments in the
Outlook calendar an hour! Even ones keys on the PC originally.. it
moves them ahead an hour and unless I have a good memory, I can't tell
when the correct time of an appointment is!
What on Earth has gone wrong? How do I get this Pocket PC to not
advance? It seems simple as if the Pocket PC is not on Daylight
Savings Time for some reason, but I never had this trouble before and
can't find a setting to correct it.
Any ideas? My calender keeps getting messed up and it's driving me
nuts!

Ryan,
One possible solution is to choose another city in the same time zone as
the one you are in. In other words if you are in New York, you may try
choosing Raleigh, or DC to get things straightened out.

Does this happen when connecting to both pc's?
If so, that would indicate that the setting problem is on the ppc.
know the question is stupid, but please state the exact steps that you
use to set the ppc clock and the exact string of the time zone description.
You might also try unchecking the "sync clock" in the pc, sync, then
recheck the clock, then do the same with the "observe daylight"
Any chance that either the pc or ppc's registry time settings have been
manually altered.
Finally, see what each device reports gmt is... on the ppc, load vxUtil
and use that to check and do the same with one of many time utilities
such as atomtime... that will help to further diagnose the situation.
