hello I have a question. Is there any way to get an actual time and date on
the pocket pc connecting to the web. I mean I would like to check the
real actual time and date, not from the inside of my ipaq, but form
the outsida station of some kind(GSM etc.). Is it possible at all. The
purpose of it all is to check if the date entered in my pocket PC
application is entered at the right time, but not right accordingto
the ipaq's time, but according to the real actual time. Is it possible
at all, to synchronize the date and the time form outside??
Please post *ALL* questions and replies to the news group for the mutual benefit of all of us...

Or, if you have a GPS connected, you can sync
to the GPS sats - even more accurate than the 'net
stuff (no transport delays).
And from anywhere the sats can be seen.
GPSDash has this ability, perhaps other GPS enabled
software does as well. My PPC has the most up-to-date time
of all the gizmos in the house this way ;-)

Hi there, we've just developed an application that allows you to sync
the time on your Pocket PC device using time servers on the Internet.
If you're interested you can download a 15-day trial version of the
application from Handango...

A solution for a problem that doesn't exist Even in PocketPC 2000, the time on the device got synchronised with the
time on the PC during ActiveSync. The PC in turn gets its time from
time.nist.gov since Windows 2000 (somewhat difficult to set up) and
Windows XP (set up and turned on by default).
PPC 02 and 03 have the same functionality built-in.

When I said "we", officer, I was referring to myself, the four young
ladies, and, of course, the goat.
In certain instances - such as with a mobile workforce - users simply
don't dock their Pocket PCs on a regular basis, if at all. We've come
across IS policy that restricts the installation of ActiveSync on PCs,
and we've even come across customer networks that aren't running an
accurate time service.
