I've seen some folks report problems with the Linksys not working with
the A161. Mine DOES work with a caveat, the computer pauses for about
20-30 seconds every 5 minutes or so. Prior to installing the Linksys my
system worked great. Done massive video editing and music and whatnot
with this board.
I have a Athlon 800MHz, 640 MB RAM, M-Audio sound card, firewire card,
ATI Rage video.
Seems like an IRQ conflict but the Linksys is using IRQ 11 and that's it
except for the ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering which the card won't
operate without. I've tried moving the Linksys to other slots but the
closer to the AGP port, the more IRQs pile up on 11. Still have pausing
regardless.
Any ideas? The same Linksys card (got 2 and had swapped them) works on
my wife's Dell system with no problems. Don't know what mobo is in her
computer.
I'm thinking about upgrading in a few weeks anyway as there is the Ham
Fest here in Timonium with lots of local dealers having decent mobos and
barebones systems at show prices. But I was hoping to tough it out if I
could solve this problem. Been trying lots of things, checking through
BIOS, etc.
