I had a problem installing device drivers (any). Install wizard always
displayed "Access denied" and setup was terminated.
Found also solution:
"Access Denied" during device driver installation may be caused by corrupted
security descriptors in your registry. Open installation .INF file with
wordpad and search for ClassGUID. Then launch regedit. From
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE search that UID. It should appear in several places: for
instance under all "SYSTEM\XXXControlSet\Control\Class" keys. Locate UID,
check its and subkey permissions. If you get here "Access denied", click
right button of your mouse and choose "permissions". Click "Advanced"
button. Choose Owner-sheet. Set "Administrators" as Owner. Click OK to close
all dialogs. Click "permissions" and "Advanced" again. Make sure you have
full permissions for Administrators and SYSTEM, Users and Power users can
have read access (Query, enumerate, notify, read).
Note that You have to do this seperatelly for every subkey below UID key
(and UID key itself too).
This solved my problems! Hope you find it useful. :-)
