I bought a "bare bones" computer package which consisted of a Soyo
motherboard, a Soyo case, and a power supply. The motherboard was
suppose to be the Soyo SY-P4I845PE which supposedly can operate at 800
MHz FSB.
I received no box with the motherboard because it was already
installed
in a Soyo case. The package was listed as a SY-A22BO. There is a
sticker on that
large box that may contain the serial number of the motherboard:
CX-Y259ROEA,
and KE03082993. Although the cover of the quick start guide is titled
"SY-P4I845PE", the second page shows "P4I845PE Serial - Version 1.1 -
Version: January 2003". The manual contains instructions for 533 and
400 MHz FSB support only.
1) How do I know that the motherboard I received is the SY-P4I845E
V1.0 and not the SY-P4I 845E?
2) How do I configure this motherboard to operate with an 800 MHz FSB
processor? There is nothing in the instructions.
3) Does this motherboard support or require 400 MHz RAM to efficiently
operate at 800 FSB?
Thanks!
4) What do I gain by using a 800 MHz FSB processor, if I cannot run
400 MHz RAM?
