Okay, now I see why they dumped the north bridge fan on the later models of the DUP400: it doesn't do s***
Mine got noisy. I got worried.
I ordered a nice Zalman heat sink to replace it, but it isn't here
yet and today the noise got to be too much to bear. I looked, and the fan was starting and stopping.
Recalling someone else's post I thought 'fine, I'll just pull the fan.'
So I unplugged it and unscrewed it (with the system running, hey life is
short, live dangerously).
The Soyo monitor said the temp of the north bridge went up...one whole
Centigrade degree! Up to 33C. Whoopee. I think I'll skip the Zalman and
just let it be with the little baby heat sink on which my case fans play.
