Running WinXP Pro

I have a 4.1 speaker setup & for a very long time had no problem, since I
updated my drivers, nothing works right.
I have re-installed everything (Drivers & Audio Rack) from Soyo & C-Media,
individually.

The problem is this, the output channels specified in the control panel
produces a completely different result!
The rear channel does not fade in the control panel like it used to and
appears to be completely nonexistent.

I have older drivers archived, but cannot find the correct combination of
versions to make things work right again.

Has anyone else ever had this problem, if so, what versions are working for
you?
