I have problems(jittery image) with monitors in my house that go over 60hz (it's most likely EM interference from the Powerline outside my house). 60hz isn't that bad, but some program change the settings of the display to 75hz. Is there a way to Lock the refresh rate of the monitor to 60 hz?
1) right click on desktop
2) LEFT CLICK PROPERTIES
3) left click on the settings tab
4) left click on the advance tab down in the lower right
5) left click on monitor tab
6) UNDER MONITOR SETTING LEFT CLICK THE REFRESH FREQUENCY TAB PICK YOUR REFRESH RATE
I know how to change the refresh rate. What I want to know is how to LOCK the refresh rate from being changed by games (like DiabloII) or other fullscreen programs. The desktop is set to 60Hz, when Diablo 2 starts, it bumps up the refresh rate to 75Hz which suffers from the jitter issue...
once you change the rate it should change unless the game needs a higher rate then you should choose the optimal setting and let be controlled. Do you know that below 75 is bad for eyes?
I have the opposite problem of this guy...
I'm aat 1152x968 at 100hz and when i open any program it goes to a lower refresh. often it's under 75 and this is annoying as hell. Win98SE and 2k would save the rates you set for each resolution, but XP doesn't seem to. I tried to lock in a refresh in the dx setup but that didn't do a thing to help.
