I am running windows xp sp2 updated machine. I purchased a belkin adapter to
run both the mouse and keyboard into one usb, and it has been working fine
until yesterday. all of a sudden the keyboard will no longer work. when i
plug the usb in, it searches for the drivers and everything connects, but the
wireless keyboard will not connect to the receiver. I press the button on
the receiver and then the connect button on the bottom of the keyboard and
nothing happens. the receiver doesnt find it. i tried changing the
batteries as well. I have also tried running the keyboard by itself through
the usb and through the ps/2 connection, and neither work. if anyone has a
suggestion for what to do would b greatly appreciated. Thanks

Justin

3 possibilities as I see it. First: Check Device manager. Second: call Belkin Tech dept, Third: keyboard is dead

ok, so i fixed the problem. it was in fact a hardware problem...the wire
running from the battery terminal had broke lose, so just had to re-solder
it.

I do have another quesiton, however. i have never been able to use the
scroll wheel on the keyboard, the favorites buttons dont do nething, and
neither do the my docs, my music, my pictures buttons. the messenger button
will not bring up AIM or trillian, the log off button doesnt work....a lot of
stuff like that....I have the updated software from the website. the only
buttons that do work are the back/forward, media, calc, and sleep. I cannot
make, for example, the mail button open mozilla thunderbird. If anyone has
any ideas about what to do to fix this, i would greatly appreciate it

yes i know that much....my problem is when i try to change it it doesnt do
anything. say i change the mail button from "Start an application: Microsoft
Office Outlook" to "Start a program, Web-page, or file" and then select the
mozilla thunderbird exe file, the button doesnt do anything when i press the
mail button. this is the case with any of the buttons if i try to choose the
"Start a program, Web-page, or file" option.
