I have a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer Optical mouse, 3.0. I like the
rodent and it has been trouble free until now.
I have not fiddled with it, ever. It has begun to double-click on the upper
left button when I've only single clicked it. I tried to update the mouse
driver, but it didn't fix. I uninstalled/installed the Intellipoint
software but to no avail. I checked the settings and the button is
configured to "click-default". I have tried slowing it's response to a
click, but that didn't do anything.

Diane,
When this has happened to me, I've usually traced it to a software conflict.
Have you added or updated any software since the problem started?
