Hi,
I am looking for a replacement for a Lexmark Optra C710 color laser
printer. Our experience with the Lexmark has been dubious, at best --
the first repair, after 1.5 years of moderate usage (500-2000
pages/month), was to replace a little plastic gear that snapped off in
the middle of regular printing. $400 and 4 months of downtime later,
it was fixed. Now, the color print quality has decreased markedly
except if printing pure cyan, yellow, or magenta, and the paper feed
jams on almost every print. I am reluctant to put any more money into
this 3-year old printer, and have decided to punt.
Can anyone recommend a high quality color printer, both in terms of
print quality and reliability, that can handle moderate workgroup
usage? Obviously, a reasonable price is also desirable, but
reliability is more important.
Thanks,
