I just installed a 9-in-1 card reader on a winXP machine, and it works
fine, but only when logged in as Admin. In fact, when I switch users to
the public user, and then switch back to Admin, it's as if it
uninstalls and no longer works even as admin. The strange thing is
there's no brand name or web site or anything I can find on the
package.

look for an FCC registration number on the reader, then look
it up on the FCC site using Google

I don't even see an FCC number. Maybe I just don't know what to look
for. I guess I can take it back to the store. In the meantime I'm
wondering if there's some setting under the Admin user policies or
something to make the hardware shared.
