yeah, me too; though I must admit the nuke-like explosions were crappy. Did you ever check out the 3dmax (i think it was called) and other graphic optimizations for q2? they were a lot like Legacy/z-doom for Doom I/II/Ultimate

I liked Q2 as well. Not because of its wonderful single player storyline but it was one of the first games I enjoyed playing online extensively. Its netcode was quite good.

When it was out, I didn't find the storyline of Q2 to be particularly interesting. The creatures all looked too strange for my tastes back then, and I preferred the daemons of Q1. For those reasons, I only played one actual level from the shareware, and only extensively LANed with my friends.

I wanna go back now.

No, never tried out the 3dmax thingy. May check into that. When I finish Doom 3 and DE:IW, I may go back and play Q2 again. After Far Cry, the graphics will surley look dated ;)

LOL I love id Software as much as the next guy, but storyline has never been their strong suit. I was utterly dissappointed with Doom 3 in regard to what id called "plotline" or "narrative".

heh, true.. at least it was plain Evil. I loved that bunny scene from doom 1 ;)

though RTCW was close to having an addictive storyline, but then again; it wasn't plain ID soft.

Yeah, RTCW had a much better storyline than Doom 3, ironically. They had enough demented Nazi antics to keep you wanting to see what they were going to do next. I cannot wait for the next Wolfenstein, with the Doom 3 engine and everything, I just know it's gonna be fun.

it has a great atmosphere indeed, but I think they squeeced everything out of wolfenstein for now.. though an engineupdate in a few years would be nice
