Hi,

I'm using an NEC Powermate computer, which has an internal zip drive iomega
zip 250. When a zip disk is inserted into the drive, explorer hangs and
nothing happens. Can anyone tell me how to fix the problem?

Shafiee.

Try this
reboot (sign on as administrator)
click start
click run
type "command" (don't type the ") press enter
type "chkdsk /f x:" (change x to your zip drive letter) (don't type the
") press enter

Hope this helps
george

Hi George,

Thanks very much for your reply. The method did not work.

I learned from a local dealer that this happens because the head of the zip
drive is dirty. It has to be cleaned with a cleaning disk.

Shafiee.
