I am hoping someone has the simple answer that I have for some reason
overlooked.

I installed a 2nd Maxtor 80gig 8meg cache HDD recently. This 2nd HDD is
exactly like the first giving me a total of 160gigs of space.

BIOS recognizes both drives. Windows XP however does not assign it a drive
letter. Thus I cannot access it from within Windows.

Any clues / guesses?

All help appreciated.

Right click the My Computer icon and select Manage. The select Disk
Manager. You should see your disk. Right click the free space and create
partition and then format it when it will assign the drive letter.
