Win 7 installation

I have a computer with XP Pro on it I am going to change to 7, use a blank 250G HDD and do a clean install, keep the existing 205G HDD with XP on it until I think everything is OK, then make a decision what to do with it, but my question, the computer also has a 500G HDD for programs and a 1.5TB HDD that I use for archiving, will my archives be easily accessable, I am expecting to reinstall the programs so thats a moot point,

If you can access it form XP, you can access it from 7.

Safest bet during an install is to unplug all other drives except the one ya want Win7 on.

Agreed, that way Win 7 won't write to the XP/Other MBR.
