Using activesync to copy MP3 toa storage card

Hi,

I am using Activesync to copy MP3 files from my PC to a pocket PC using the
browse facility to my storage card. The copy process seems very slow and the
top of the dialog box says "copy and convert to mobile device format....."
Why does there need to be any conversion if the files are already in MP3?

Also if I get a SD reader for my PC and transfer the files to my SD card
does this mean that they will not be compatible with the pocket PC as they
have not gone through the conversion process?

Thanks in advance

Gary.

The copy dialog say "copy and convert" because it will convert those file
extensions that needs to be converted. MP3s will not be converted in anyway
though so they will always be compatible no matter how you copy them to the
SD card.

Since ActiveSync only support USB1.1 the speed is not that high. If you get
an USB2.0 compatible SD card reader you can copy the MP3s alot faster (if
you have USB2.0 ports on your PC that is).
