I have a Tyan S1563D motherboard, and the opportunity to upgrade the
ram, except it is not going to work according to the spec's.
The Intel HX chipset on this board supports up to 512MB, in a max of
8X64MB configuration. this can be 16MBX32 SIMMS(X8).
Is there a hope that using 1G in a 32MBX32(X8) configuration could
work? Even if it just recognized 512MB it would be an improvement.
Basically, I would like to know if I can stick in 72 pin 128MB
SIMMS(X8) in a motherboard that accepts 64MB(X8) and have it function?
A pipe dream, I know, but I have to ask, and am likely to try unless
told otherwise.(don't own the mem yet or I would have tried it!)

Thanks to all the contributors here, it is always a good read.

And just for fun, went over and logged in, task manager showing system
idle process showing 2252+ hours. (time to clean the filters!!!)
