I cant get my packard bell diamond 1200plus scanner to work. I keep
getting the message 'computer cannot detect the scanner' but its all
plugged in properly. Can someone please help?

This may seem a stupid question, but as you did not address it: did
you install the drivers, PROPERLY?

thingy-ma-jig.

Why do you even bring up PCMCIA? Where did the OP ever hint that this
was an issue with a Laptop computer?
