Sound card to run two items

i am trying to run window media player on one set of speakers, the other set of speakers for the computer ,system is running window 7 ..

Are you trying to run 2 sets of speakers from the same sound card? It isn't clear from your original post what you are trying to do.

Also, what are your system's basic specification? Are you using a stand-alone sound card or your motherboard's integrated sound card?

Please clarify.

Are you trying to send Media Player output to one speaker set, and regular Windows sounds to another?

Win 7 does not support dual audio outputs, but there are programs that allow you to pick which audio device you will use. Looks like Media Player is a no, but Winamp should work.
